Director and Clinical Psychologist

Peter is a clinical psychologist who is passionate about providing a warm therapeutic relationship and assisting people to work towards their individual goals. He has had over 10 years' experience working in a range of different mental health environments, including forensic settings, public mental health, the community and private practice. Peter has worked in various locations, including Australia and the United Kingdom. He is a lecturer in psychology and an active researcher.

His main interests are working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD and social difficulties. Peter values working collaboratively and using evidence supported psychological treatments. His main therapeutic practices include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Schema Therapy.

Amelia McDermott

Director and Psychologist

Amelia is a fully registered psychologist and the Co-Director of Psychology Wellbeing Consulting. She has over 10 years' experience working across many mental health settings, including schools, private hospitals, the prison system, recruitment, psychometric testing, and private practice. Amelia views everyone from a multidimensional perspective and considers the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of her clients. She views self-awareness through mindfulness and a deeper connection to nature as important factors in improving wellbeing.

Amelia's main interests are working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, perfectionism, self-esteem issues, and relationship difficulties. She uses a range of evidence-based treatments to suit the needs of each client, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Positive Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Eco therapy. Amelia also provides individual coaching and guided nature based workshops.

Rebecca Staub, Family / Systemic Psychotherapist at Psychology Wellbeing & Consulting in Melbourne

Rebecca Staub

Family / Systemic Psychotherapist

Rebecca is a qualified Family / Systemic Psychotherapist and Occupational Therapist. She is passionate about supporting groups of people, especially families and couples, in strengthening their relationships. She is committed to creating a safe space where couples and family members can discuss and overcome difficult issues together.

Rebecca has more than 10 years' experience working within child, adolescent and adult mental health services. She has worked within community and charitable agencies that have offered therapeutic services to couples and parents.

Rebecca's main interests are working with people who have experienced relationship or parental issues, psychological distress in childhood and adolescence and behavioural difficulties e.g. school refusal. She integrates skills and knowledge from a variety of approaches including systems theory, attachment theory and narrative therapy.
