Supervision towards endorsement
Area of practice endorsement in clinical psychology requires general registration, an approved qualification accredited at sixth-year level or higher, and a period of Board-approved supervised practice through the registrar program. Supervision is the spine of that program, and the requirements are set by the Psychology Board of Australia rather than by the supervisor.
Check the Board's current registrar program requirements and supervisor approval status before you commit to an arrangement — we will confirm ours in writing at the outset.
What sessions cover
Case formulation and treatment planning, working with risk, the harder parts of the therapeutic relationship, ethical and professional questions, and the parts of the job nobody warns you about — caseload, documentation, and the accumulation of difficult material.
Supervision here is structured rather than ad hoc: goals set early, cases followed across sessions, and direct feedback rather than agreeable silence.
In the city or online
In-person supervision is at our Queen Street rooms, a short walk from Flinders Street Station and a block from the Collins Street trams. Video supervision works well and is how most interstate and regional supervisees meet with us.
